Caring Connections
The personality Advantage** of Passion focuses on creating caring and warm emotional connections. If this is your dominant Advantage you will use strong emotions and energy in your communications, both written and spoken. Creating and nurturing relationships will be perceived as a primary focus in your ministry. Your energy will inspire people to be in action with you, which makes recruiting people for programs and activities easy for you. When you believe in an idea or activity, others see you as easily convincing people to go along with it. You usually like to work with a team. You can also sense discord before others do and will step in to try to keep the relationships healthy.
As with each Advantage there are some things about the Passion Advantage of which you need to be aware so you can lead effectively. Time management is often not your strength. This is because people are more important to you than the administrative things of ministry. You can also be very creative and generate a lot of ideas quickly. However, thinking them through logically, paying attention to details to put a plan or idea into action and doing this in a timely way are all areas where it’s good to pull in other staff, committee members or volunteers who have those gifts and skills.
The Apostle Paul reminds us (Romans 12 & 1 Corinthians 12) we are each a member of the body of Christ. Each part/member of the body has gifts to offer to the whole. No matter what our part is, we are not the whole of the body and cannot go it alone. Whatever your primary Advantage is, those whose dominant Advantage is Passion have a gift from God. May you use your dominant Advantage in gratitude to God and for the blessing of those you serve.
