Creative Ideas & Solutions
Those whose dominant personality Advantage** is Innovation lead with creative solutions. You are usually seen as independent-minded, even a bit irreverent at times. Brainstorming and generating a profusion of ideas come naturally to you. You see options in abundance and can come up with solutions that no one else has envisioned. You are a ‘big picture’ person. While details are not your thing, you still like to explore all the options before making a decision. With your creativity you can tweak traditions to create something fresh without completely throwing out the traditional. You are also usually seen as charmingly convincing in getting others to try something new.
As with the other Advantages, when Innovation is your dominant Advantage there are a couple of areas where you need to be careful. Your irreverent moments can seem to others like you’re trampling on valued traditions or beliefs. That will lead to misunderstandings and mistrust. Since you’re always coming up with new ideas, follow through is not always your strength. Take care that you don’t start things and then leave others holding the bag when you move on to the next new idea. Realize that since you’re a ‘big picture’ thinker your communication style tends not to be as logical as for some other people. This means that your written and spoken messages can leave some members of your staff or community confused with how you got from point A to point D since you aren’t likely to always explain that.
Remember Paul’s words (Romans 12 & 1 Corinthians 12) that we are each a member of the body of Christ. Each part/member of the body has gifts to offer to the whole. No matter what our part is, we are not the whole of the body and cannot go it alone. Whatever your primary Advantage is, those whose dominant Advantage is Innovation have a gift from God. May you use your dominant Advantage in gratitude to God and for the blessing of those you serve.
